Supporting Clouds of Hope (16 June 2008)
We have set up our first borrowing library in a local school in Kent, UK to raise money for a literacy program at Clouds of Hope – an AIDS orphanage in Underberg, South Africa. For more details or to order one for your school, email Jamie. Basically it is for parents and teachers to use. They look through the shelves for a book they'd like to read, put a pound in the box and keep the book for as long as they like. They can either put another good quality book on the shelf to replace the one they took, or just return it in good condition when they have finished reading it. This way we promote reading and recycling among the parents, teachers and children here whilst raising money to do the same in under-priviledged communities.

All the audio files have now been mastered and are available here thanks to the huge effort by Steve at LTP Studios. If you like the stories, please let all your friends know where they can download them. The more interest we generate now, the more successful this worthy cause will be in the long term. Thank you for your interest and for supporting The Ganesh Project.

Recording day (07 April 2006)

Andy Whipp

Actor/Director Andrew Whipp recording The Taylor Pennysworth Detective Agency Book 1: Planet X. Andy's soothing baritone voice delivered the goods. He had a bit of a cold and because of that, gave the voices of Mr. Hippobottomus and Mr. Winiger a superbly menacing edge! Awesome.

Actress Caroline Lintott recording Jem and the Tiger Lily. Caroline's voice breathed life into the story. She went on to record Jem and the Humans as well as Jem's Birthday with unwavering professionalism. Watching Caroline record was a real treat. Her hand gestures and facial expressions were mesmerising. She has inspired Jamie to continue the Jem series which he'll do as soon as Book 2 of the Taylor Pennysworth Detective Agency is finished.

Steve Minchington

LTP Studios sound engineer, Steve Minchington capturing the voices. Steve has spent many hours without complaint mastering the audio files so that The Ganesh Project can make them available for you to download for free. We owe him a huge debt of gratitude.

Steve is currently in the final stages of mixing the files down and promises they will be ready soon.

These should be available to download as audio books by 10 April 2006. Thank you both so much for supporting the Project and helping it off to an awesome start!

New stories added (08 March 2006)
Three short stories by Jamie Harbison about a little elf called Jem are added to the e-library. Go to the Downloads page to read them.

Getting started (01 March 2006)
To launch The Ganesh Project, it’s founder, Jamie Harbison, is donating the first three books of The Taylor Pennysworth Detective Agency series.

The first book—Book 1: Planet X, is currently available to download in PDF format in English. Volunteers have already made offers to translate the book into Spanish, German, French, Hindi and Tamil (coming soon). LTP Studios in Northampton have kindly donated time to record the audio book version. Books 2 and 3 are currently in progress. These will all be available soon.

The proceeds from all material downloaded directly from the website will go to the Project. Based on the success on this, we hope to attract other new authors, which will ensure the long-term success of the Project and the realisation of the vision it holds: to make the magic of stories, books and literature in general available to every child on the planet!

Early support (01 March 2006)
A charity shop in New Ash Green (Oxfam) have kindly agreed to donate some of the books it has been unable to sell in store.

A spokesperson from the local church group happened to be in the shop when we were talking to the manager. She said that they always have books left over from the book sales they regularly hold and that she would be delighted to support this initiative.
